This webinar will inform municipal staff and local stakeholders about:
* The health and health equity risks presented by extreme heat;
* The various ways that municipalities can reduce those risks; and 
* How the HealthyPlan.City tool can be used to reduce heat-related health inequities in their communities. 

Dr. Michael Lee is a senior scientist with environmental health services at the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control (BC CDC). His work is focused on developing and implementing applied research and surveillance programs to enable us to better understand and address the interconnections between human health, animal health, and environmental health.  Michael’s portfolio includes extreme heat, wildfire smoke, cyanobacteria, biotoxins, and other environmental health related issues. 

Dr. Dany Doiron holds a PhD in Epidemiology and has been working as an environmental epidemiologist for over a decade. He is the Managing Director of the Canadian Urban Environmental Health Research Consortium (CANUE) and the Co-Director of the HealthyPlan.City project.
